Midwest’s Largest Health System Uses iPhone App to Connect Patients and Physicians

Chicago, IL (Vocus) October 12, 2010

As one of the nation’s top 10 health systems, Advocate Health Care does more than provide top quality and compassionate care–it’s also committed to using the latest technology to bring patients and physicians together. After being recognized eight times as one of the country’s 100 most wired hospitals, Advocate has now turned to iPhone to launch its new App called Advocate Physician Finder.

Capitalizing on the iPhone’s ease of use and popularity among consumers, the Advocate App allows users to search for Advocate physicians by location, specialty or insurance provider. Consumers also have access to detailed information about selected physicians and the ability to contact them directly or request an appointment right from their iPhone. Advocate is the only health system in Illinois to develop an iPhone physician finder App.

“Through our focus on innovation and prevention, we are using technology to empower patients with resources and improved access to enhance their health,” said Kelly Jo Golson, senior vice president, marketing and public affairs. “Advocate Physician Finder is a creative and consumer friendly way to connect our physicians with the patients, families and communities we serve.”

The Advocate App is free—visit the Apple store and search Advocate Physician Finder to download.
